Fishing

Kalungu District lies in the Central region of Uganda, sharing borders with the District of Masaka and the Lake Victoria.The people of Kalungu being bordered by the Lake and the River Katonga practice mainly fishing from which they earn income to support their families for example paying school dues and providing basic materials for their house holds.

Cattle keeping

A number of people in Kalungu district rare animals especially cows. These are mainly kept for meat and milk consumption.
The milk is the main product of dairy farming which is exported to neibouring districts and also consumed locally. This milk is handled very carefully as it can easily be contaminated if not handled well to avoid losses.The meat is also either consumed locally, or sold off to earn income to support the farmer's family forexample to pay school fees for their children.
